She was responsible for orchestrating an efficient workflow and ensuring quality of output for high end color prints, digital drum scanning and film output for press. She also developed and facilitated a 4-day seminar on using color for desktop pre-press and taught monthly 2-part classes on the basic theories of desktop color separations.
In 1996, Susan became a Pre-Press Consultant for a major advertising studio in NYC, Stan Adler Associates. Her responsibilities included troubleshooting documents for trapping and separation issues in order to make sure they were set up properly for press. Other responsibilities included communicating with the commercial offset printers, and having consultations with the art directors and account executives.
About a year after the birth of her son, in 1997, Susan began doing graphic design. She started by doing the camp yearbooks for Camp Ramaquois and Spring Lake Day Camp and then moved on to re-designing their promotional pieces and information packets. Over the years, Susan has developed a clientele made up of commercial printers, summer camps and individual small businesses.
She has professional level skills in Adobe Photoshop, Quark Xpress, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe GoLive and specializes in creating custom color photo montages and photo re-touching. This year she added Website design to her list of skills and is excited about entering into this new area of design.
